Public Policy Forum Releases Fiscal Scan of Public Funds for Youth Development Programs
At the request of BTB's Policy Working Group, the Public Policy Forum has completed a scan of public funding sources administered by Milwaukee County, the City of Milwaukee and Milwaukee Public Schools. Scan results will be used to better prioritize, track and coordinate resources four positive youth development programs. Read the full scan here.
Professional Development Pilot Trains 200+ Youth Work Professionals
BTB's Quality Working Group has successfully completed its pilot offering high-quality, competency-based trainings to youth development professionals. From November 2016 to January 2017, 229 individuals from 69 organizations received free training in BTB's Core Competencies. 98% found the quality of trainings to be very good or good, and 81% felt they had the skills to implement the content in their work.
BTB Releases Core Competencies for Youth Development Practitioners
A year in the making, this guide provides a set of competencies--or knowledge, skills, and abilities essential to youth development work--for youth development professionals. The guide also includes a Self-Assessment Tool for staff to measure their own knowledge and skills in the areas of: health, program design, program activities, professionalism, community engagement, and sustainability.
